Hospital in Panama City, Florida, is no exception. Gulf Coast Hospital recently took a significant step towards meeting those needs by vertically expanding not just one, but two of their towers. This project, where JE Dunn served as the construction manager, was featured in Commercial Construction & Renovation Magazine with a piece by Josh Meadows, healthcare project executive and vice president with JE Dunn.

This ambitious project added state-of-the-art facilities for high-demand service lines, including inpatient rehabilitation, a surgical intensive care unit, and a new medical/surgical unit. Vertical expansions are notoriously complex projects with unique requirements and risks, warranting significant construction experience, expertise, sophistication and leadership.
Environmental considerations are even more important for vertical expansions, particularly in locations like Florida, where the climate presents additional weather-related risks and challenges. The team focused on safety, infection control, and the patient experience to the greatest extent possible for project phasing, logistics, daily work plans and team member training.
