Prevention through Design: A Collaborative Approach to Safety

Senior safety manager, John McKenzie, shares lessons learned from implementing Prevention Through Design (PtD) on JE Dunn Construction’s $310M project at the Portland International Airport. This collaborative approach integrates safety into the design process to eliminate risks for construction workers as well as future building occupants and maintenance staff. With a PtD approach, we can build safer buildings for the long run and enhance schedule and cost savings along the way.
