JE Dunn Construction has played a crucial role in rapidly assembling Georgia-Pacific’s Dixie Jackson plant. The $425 million facility required significant construction efforts, including moving massive amounts of dirt, pouring concrete, installing plumbing and ductwork, and erecting concrete tilt panels.
Spanning a year and a half, it didn’t take long from the project’s groundbreaking in 2022 for JE Dunn to bring the vision of a new high-tech plant to fruition. The quick turnaround nonetheless involved a continued emphasis on safety, earning Georgia-Pacific a Gold Safety Award for exceeding industry safety standards.
The new Dixie plant aims to boost Georgia-Pacific’s production capacity for Dixie paper products and features state-of-the-art automation. Composed primarily of 320 concrete tilt panels and 2,900 tons of structural steel, JE Dunn poured 52,000 cubic yards of concrete and laid an impressive 58,000 linear feet of conduit with 110 miles of cable.
