JE Dunn partnered with repeat client Berry College to complete the renovation of two historic buildings, Thomas Berry Hall constructed in 1931, and Evans Hall constructed in 1911. With a tight schedule designed to complete the work during the summer semester, the projects addressed updates to student housing and critical MEP upgrades.
Thomas Berry Hall, a 26,000 square foot suite-style residence for 145 students, underwent a complete renovation, preserving the building's historic facade while updating shared kitchens, bathrooms, common areas, and a faculty apartment. Other key improvements include the installation of energy-efficient windows and HVAC systems in addition to a new roof.
Evans Hall, home to the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, received a full HVAC system overhaul to improve both energy efficiency and air quality. The windows and blinds were replaced to enhance the HVAC system’s performance, and the ductwork was thoroughly cleaned and updated. Additional work included underground utility repairs, gutter restoration, window and door replacements, and landscaping improvements.
