The new two-story Pueblo County Detention Center is a 180,000 square-foot facility built with more than 1,500 precast panels. A total of 362 prefabricated cells were manufactured for the building, the weight of each averaging 16,000 pounds, bringing the bed count total to 672.
The interior space contains different support facilities including jail administration space, warehouse and maintenance space, clinic and infirmary, evidence and property storage, kitchen and laundry, and inmate programs spaces. It also provides opportunities in education, counseling, physical and mental health, and personal development—strengthening Pueblo County’s mission to provide community safety through a secure, constitutional detention center.
