The Study Hall is a proud recipient of a $50,000 grant from JE Dunn Construction. Inspired by the success of the “Building a Legacy” Centennial campaign in 2024, JE Dunn’s Community Impact team has launched the Cornerstone Campaign. Through this new initiative, JE Dunn will donate $1 million+ each year to a charitable cause that its employees select. Cornerstone Campaign donations supplement the company’s existing annual giving.
JE Dunn employees chose “Access to safe and supportive spaces for kids in need” as the focus for the 2025 Cornerstone Campaign.
Employees nationwide nominated organizations within the cause area, which were then thoroughly vetted by the Community Impact team and the national Cornerstone Committee to identify up to four grantees per region through an invitation-only grant process.
This year, the Southeast Region’s nominee, The Study Hall was selected as a grant recipient.
“After 10 years on The Study Hall’s board, I’ve seen firsthand the remarkable impact this organization has on the lives of children in Atlanta,” said Brent Strength, senior vice president at JE Dunn Construction. “I’m excited to see this grant help sustain this nurturing environment where kids feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow.”
The Study Hall is an after-school and summer camp program offering an educational and enrichment curriculum for kindergarten through fifth grade children in Atlanta. The organization received this grant on June 4 and will use this money toward their summer camp program, Camp Exploration, and supporting their program enrichment activities during the upcoming school year.
“We are delighted to be the recipient for the Southeast region.” said Jacquetta Watkins, executive director at The Study Hall. “The Study Hall is proud to have served Atlanta’s youth for 35 years and counting. This investment in our work assists us with more resources to create a greater impact in our young scholars’ lives. We’re grateful and thankful.”
“The Study Hall exemplifies the powerful impact our employees and company are making through this year’s Cornerstone Campaign mission,” said Stuart Bruening, office leader of JE Dunn Construction in Atlanta. “It’s about giving back and building brighter futures for kids in our communities, here in Atlanta and beyond.”
