2023 community impact year in review

Omaha

Community Impact was as much a priority as ever in 2023 – including volunteering, donating, fundraising, and hosting and attending events. In addition to philanthropic efforts, we also engaged our community through outreach that centered around diversity, equity, and inclusion. This year, Omaha launched its Minority Contractor Development (MCD) Program to mentor small and emerging minority- and women-owned businesses in all aspects of running a commercial construction company. For six months, our Omaha office employees led nine minority contractors through monthly training sessions and modules. The Omaha team also formed a great partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities in 2023. As we worked on the RMHC tenant finish project, we got to know the organization better as a client and a nonprofit, leading to meaningful volunteer engagement and employee support. Employees made pizza for the RMHC Meals that Heal program, built an igloo for residents and their families to enjoy, participated in fundraising efforts, and engaged residents in a trail project outside the house, helping them to permanently make a mark on their home away from home.

“Beyond their outstanding technical proficiency, JE Dunn Construction displayed a genuine commitment to the values and mission of the Ronald McDonald House. Their dedication to helping families in need was evident in their work, and they went above and beyond to ensure that our facility was not only functional but also warm and welcoming. This team went the extra mile by including our families in the project, building a snow globe wonderland in the backyard and volunteering to make dinner for all residents. They are a “yes” industry leader, and we are grateful to have had the privilege of working with them.”
