2023 community impact year in review

Oklahoma City

In 2023, our Oklahoma offices experienced an impressive engagement with over 300 volunteer hours across more than 20 volunteer opportunities. We partnered with The Oklahoma Children’s Hospital Child Life group for Halloween and Christmas, providing toys for 2024. Employees set a regularly scheduled day to do various horticultural activities with the Oklahoma City Zoo. We held a book drive for Oklahoma City Public Schools, collecting over 100 books for their mobile libraries, and several employees volunteered as reading buddies for middle schoolers. Our ERGs and Peer Groups also got out into the community, with Moment Connection volunteering at City Care, the only night shelter for all people and even pets. BUiLD ran a booth with race cars at Tulsa’s Juneteenth celebration and sponsored a family and children through the Salvation Army Angel Tree. The PE Peer Group held quarterly volunteering which included the Oklahoma City Food Bank and after school activities with Big Brothers Big Sisters through United Way. Our Operations Peer Group furnished apartments for two refugee families. During National Volunteer Week, we organized an activity each day and had great participation gardening, picking up trash, and cleaning up the zoo, while the Tulsa office worked at the Eastern Oklahoma Food Bank.

“Our legacy of giving back is not only in the projects we build, but in all the ways we serve our community — from being recognized by our distinctive blue shirts as the “hard-working volunteers” to being mistaken for hospital employees at volunteer events.”
– Ali Sanderson, Senior Project Manager
