Medical City McKinney Behavioral Health & Inpatient Rehabilitation Institute expanded their services with a two-story, 80,000-square-foot facility that serves adults with acute behavioral health needs and provides 20 inpatient rehabilitation rooms and 80 adult and geriatric patient rooms. Design of the facility focused on exposure to natural light and natural spaces, such as windows with views of the outdoors and access to an outdoor healing garden.
Increased patient safety features include push buttons for nurse alarms, recessed shelving, anti-ligature faucets, fixtures and doorknobs, automatic shower timers, and sloped or breakaway foam bathroom doors for patient rooms.
