La Palma Correctional Center

Project Highlights

JE Dunn and DLR Group completed the 599,000-square-foot, 3,240-bed correctional center in Eloy, Arizona in 15 months.

The facility consists of three separate compounds, each of which contains two 360-bed General Population Housing units and one 360-bed Special Housing unit, for a total of 3,240 beds. Each of the three compounds has a Program Support Building, which contains inmate education and vocational program areas, administrative offices, a medical clinic, library, chapel, and dining/serving kitchen.

The overall building site development included a 350-car parking lot, perimeter fence, detection system, site lighting, and a security patrol road. The project was completed in three phases to allow for early occupancy for 1,000 beds per phase.
