JE Dunn renovated Georgia Tech’s existing football locker room located in the North End Zone of Historic Bobby Dodd Stadium at Grant Field. This ambitious project demanded meticulous attention to detail, culminating in a stunning transformation delivered within an unyielding timeframe just before the start of the season.
The occupied renovation, totaling over 8,000 square feet, includes 116 new, custom-built lockers, a new prefinished metal ceiling with Georgia Tech branding, LED lighting throughout, imported tile, and sleek fixtures featuring high-end hardware. The space also includes a new hydrotherapy area with cold and hot plunge pools. Each locker features a 15-inch digital display for player names, numbers, or highlights, coupled with charging stations and lockable storage.
In just six months, JE Dunn completely transformed Georgia Tech’s football locker room. No existing finishes were left from the existing space; all antiquated materials were updated to state-of-the art products and equipment that rival any similar facility in the country.
Throughout the project, JE Dunn worked closely with Georgia Tech and SLAM to overcome significant challenges, including severe unforeseen subsurface conditions upon excavation of the area where the new plunge pools would be located. Despite this challenge, through a commitment to collaboration, we successfully delivered the renovated locker room on schedule in advance of Georgia Tech’s Fall camp, much to the delight of coaches and student-athletes.
