University of Minnesota Health Sciences Education Center

Project Highlights

The University of Minnesota’s new Health Sciences Education Center (HSEC) was designed to transform health education in Minnesota by moving from the lecture hall to active, team-based learning in the same type of small-group environments that students will encounter as practicing healthcare professionals. HSEC creates a hub for all the health professional schools by renovating and constructing over 200,000 SF of state-of-the-art classrooms, study spaces, enhanced simulation and immersive training environments, the Center for Health Interprofessional Programs, and libraries that offer everything from rare manuscript collections to augmented reality and makerspaces.
