USACE Fort Leonard Wood Hospital Replacement

Project Highlights

JE Dunn, partnered with RLF, is designing and constructing a world-class healthcare facility. The design pays homage to the rich history of Fort Leonard Wood and takes advantage of the site’s rolling terrain. It also creates a welcoming environment, an intuitive layout, and provides a human-scale and visual interest. The materials respect the region, while providing an award-winning design. Fort Leonard Wood is home to the 102nd Training Division and Missouri’s 35th Engineer Brigade.

The hospital serves 34,000 beneficiaries within a 40-mile radius of the Fort. The design and construction of the Hospital Campus is expected to take 48 months. When complete, the project will feature a 235,376 square-foot hospital, 193,332 square-foot medical clinic, a 20,459 square-foot central utility plant, a five-bay ambulance garage, and supporting facilities. The existing hospital will be demolished.

The entire project team has embraced a formal partnering approach. USACE, in partnership with the Defense Health Agency, has employed Collaborative Analytics to further aid collaboration.
