Weir’s Plaza is a new 297,000 SF, 12-story Class AA office building, featuring high-end finishes with downtown views, a 6-level underground parking garage with 800 parking stalls that required a 60-foot-deep excavation into rock, with a complex soil retention system to ensure the integrity of adjacent buildings, streets, and underground parking structures, and 50,000 SF of ground level retail. Amenities include resort-style fitness center, several tiered rooftop terraces, a new two-story, 28,000 SF, signature Weir’s furniture store, 15,000 SF of street-level restaurant space, and expansive sidewalks with pedestrian-oriented streetscape elements. The project also included historical preservation of the Highland Park Soda Fountain, which was incorporated into the new structure, with unique masonry exterior skin elements to match the historic Soda Fountain facade.
