Saronic’s $300 million expansion of its Franklin, Louisiana shipyard will add more than 300,000 SF of new production space, including three slips, expanded warehouse capacity, and a dedicated line for large-vessel assembly to support the next generation of the 180-foot Marauder.
Construction is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, a critical milestone that aligns with Saronic’s development and deployment timeline for autonomous vessels. Meeting this date is essential to support increased production demands and maintain momentum as the company advances its next phase of shipbuilding.
A JE Dunn & Alberici joint venture is planning the project with early coordination, clear work sequencing, and Lean practices to keep the 12-month construction schedule on track. Prefabrication and streamlined installation strategies will reduce onsite work and improve reliability once construction begins.
Delivering the facility on time is essential. The completed shipyard will increase U.S. shipbuilding capacity by roughly 12% and support the accelerated production of next-generation unmanned surface vessels.
