The 378,000-square-foot Terminal 1 renovation at Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP) stands as the largest renovation in the airport’s history. Delivered through a partnership between the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) and Delta Air Lines, the project modernized six of the terminal’s seven concourses and upgraded 99 Delta passenger holdrooms.
The work began with critical infrastructure improvements above the ceiling, followed by new carpet and terrazzo flooring, updated wall finishes, gate counters, signage, and seating. To minimize disruption to airport operations, Delta kept gates fully operational while crews completed the majority of construction overnight.
The renovation introduced upgraded flight information displays, refreshed gate areas, seating with integrated power outlets, LED lighting, metal panel ceiling systems, and architectural column covers. The team delivered the project in three phases: Phase 1 renovated Concourses D and F, Phase 2 focused on Concourse C, and Phase 3 completed work in Concourses A, B, G, and the Skyway Bridge connecting Concourses C and G.
