Black Hills Energy

Power Plant

Project Highlights

JE Dunn provided construction services for the 600 MW combined cycle power plant located in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Construction of the foundation and yard structures for a new gas-fired power plant included piers and pier caps, mass foundations, grade beams, large columns, 8-foot thick raised deck, 72-inch concrete and steel pipe and reinforcing steel and over 2,000 anchor bolts.

In order to accommodate the requirements of the owner, a special concrete mix was utilized for the cooling tower. Modular wall forms were used for the majority of the foundations.

Extensive coordination with employees was required in order to maintain operations as well as the construction schedule.
