JE Dunn, in partnership with Barnsley Construction Group and Construction Works (ATLBuilders Joint Venture), delivered the Delta Sky Club at Concourse D of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport—an elevated lounge experience aligned with Delta’s premier hospitality standards.
The project created 25,000 square feet of premium airline lounge and support space above the existing Concourse D, encompassing a total project footprint of 75,000 square feet. To support the vertical expansion, the team widened both the passenger concourse and apron-level support areas beneath the Sky Club and relocated multiple passenger boarding bridges. All work occurred within an active airside environment, immediately adjacent to operating gates and aircraft.
Extensive preplanning, coordination, and communication were essential to maintaining safe operations and uninterrupted passenger movement throughout the concourse. The team sequenced phased construction activities to accommodate the disconnection and reinstallation of boarding bridges while preserving gate access and passenger flow. Continuous, 24/7 collaboration with airport operations, Delta Air Lines, AvAirPros, and CBRE ensured operational continuity throughout construction.
The completed Sky Club offers a world-class, 500-plus-seat lounge experience featuring floor-to-ceiling views of the airfield, a theater-style media wall, a full-service bar, gourmet buffet offerings, private recliner seating, workstations, phone booths, a commercial kitchen, and multiple food and beverage stations. High-end architectural finishes and refined interior details elevate the space and redefine the airport lounge experience.
Delivered over an active concourse with no disruption to passenger traffic, the Concourse D Delta Sky Club demonstrates the team’s ability to execute complex, vertically integrated construction in high-traffic aviation environments while maintaining the highest standards of safety, coordination, and quality.
