The recently completed Methodist Emergency Department was a complex, multi-phased project that expands emergency care to the Omaha metro. Phase I consisted of the ambulance garage renovation and the 10,000 square foot addition of a new Emergency Department entrance and lobby. Phase II included the renovation of exam and isolation rooms, and the addition of enhanced spaces for mental health and SANE patients. Phase III renovations included staff amenities, office and lounge space, and the addition of Fast Track Triage.
Our team completed this three-year project while ensuring the Emergency Department was fully operational 24/7. This took a lot of pre-planning, constant coordination, and schedule flexibility. Our approach included constructing 8 temporary exam rooms to allow for the additional overflow bed space, a temporary Ambulance drive lane, and an alternate Emergency entrance. Our team also used prefabricated headwalls, MEP systems, and exterior wall panels to expedite the schedule and minimize exposure to the elements.
