University of Minnesota Dwan Levels 2 and 3 Wet Bench Lab Renovations

Project Highlights

The Dwan Variety Club Cardiovascular Research Center (Dwan) on the East Bank of the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus was originally built in 1972. While it was state-of-the-art when constructed, over the decades that spaces had become outdated and inefficient. Two renovation projects, one of Level Two and another on Level Three, rearranged and updated the spaces to provide modern, open, adaptable facilities for researchers in the Department of Surgery’s Division of Transplantation as well as the Medical School’s Division of Molecular Medicine and Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep. The new open wet bench lab spaces and shared core facilities include procedure rooms, tissue culture rooms, microscopy, mass spectrometry, BSL-2 capabilities, and linear equipment rooms.
