JE Dunn Construction Chief Legal Officer Tom Whittaker was named one of Ingram’s C-Suite Awards winners for 2025.
Ingram’s yearly C-Suite Awards highlight executives who have been influential in helping grow some of Kansas City’s most successful companies. The awards recognize senior leadership across several titles and disciplines, including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief People Officer, and Chief Information Officer, and other titles related to those functions.
Whittaker joined JE Dunn more than 30 years ago when the construction firm had just one attorney on staff. The role allowed Whittaker to continue blending his interests in construction, engineering, and law, and the company’s principles and culture aligned with his own values.
“I could not have imagined the scope and breadth of matters I would become involved in when I started. My career has become more than helping people with legal issues and addressing risks in business,” Whittaker said.
His career transformation continued in 2010 when he was named JE Dunn’s Chief Legal Officer.
“Now, building teams to help lead the company as it starts its next 100 years is just as important as the projects we build and growing the business,” he said.
