Chief Financial Officer Beth Soukup receives the Women Transforming Business Award powered by CBIZ Women’s Advantage

JE Dunn Chief Financial Officer Beth Soukup has been named a recipient of the 2024 Women Transforming Business Award powered by CBIZ Women’s Advantage (WTBAs). The fourth annual WTBAs honors women who have driven significant change within their organizations and communities in five categories: financial strength, innovation, culture, community impact, and emerging leader.

Soukup has held the CFO position at JE Dunn for 10 years. Under her leadership, JE Dunn has achieved exceptional results, including:

  • Growing its annual revenue from $2.6 billion when she started in 2014 to $6.4 billion in 2023.
  • Expanding its market share and geographic presence, now with 26 offices across the country and projects in 30 states.
  • Enhancing its financial stability and resilience working with Treasury and Risk Management groups.
  • Increasing its profitability and efficiency, with a consistent focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Driving growth of the company’s ESOP.

“Beth’s energy and passion is contagious. She’s one of those unique individuals that always lights up a room when she enters it. She has been an outstanding CFO and a great role model and advocate for our female employees,” said Gordon Lansford, President and CEO.

Additionally, Beth has championed DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) initiatives, making a lasting, legacy impact on the company. In 2023, two new Employee Resource Groups were started, following Beth’s lead after she founded the company’s first Employee Resource Group (ERG), a women’s ERG, in 2016. She remains actively involved and serves as executive sponsor, and the number of female operations leaders has grown by 50 percent since it was founded.

The group aims to empower, connect, and develop women in the construction industry, and has grown to over 800 members across the company. With its success, three other ERGs were launched, promoting a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Her initial vision and proactiveness propelled these groups, offering employees opportunities to share their experiences, perspectives, and insights and ultimately providing a sense of belonging for all.

“It’s an honor to be recognized among these incredible women for the CBIZ 2024 Women Transforming Business Awards,” Soukup said. “I’m grateful for the opportunities I have had to make an impact and hope to inspire others to make a difference as well.”
