Blue Springs Career Innovation Center

JE Dunn built the two-story Blue Springs Career Innovation Center, a purpose-built facility that advances profession-based learning and prepares students for college and careers through real world learning opportunities. The center supports specialized programs in aviation, business, medical and health, gaming and technology, teaching and education, and hospitality and tourism.

Key features include:

• Culinary and hospitality facilities: A commercial kitchen, bakery, mock restaurant and coffee shop support the hospitality and tourism curriculum while serving the broader facility.
• Esports and athletic spaces: An esports arena with food-service capabilities, along with new track and field facilities for discus, javelin and shot put, provide opportunities for recreation and competition.
• Professional development and safety: The center accommodates districtwide professional development events and includes an ICC 500-compliant high-wind shelter to protect occupants during severe weather.
• Hands-on learning environments: Dedicated instructional spaces support veterinary technician, pharmacy technician, video game design, music technology, and instrument repair programs.
• Recreation and community gathering: An auxiliary practice gym with locker rooms, an outdoor rooftop terrace, and a lounge connected to the mock restaurant create flexible settings for fitness, dining and social events.
