This 282,500 square foot distribution facility is located on 13 acres directly adjacent to NAPA Balkamp’s existing facility. The new facility will tie into the existing warehouse, creating a larger building to meet increased demand. These tie-ins were highly coordinated, as they included several punch-through aisles and pass-throughs of the existing conveyor system. JE Dunn worked extensively with NAPA to ensure ongoing distribution operations continued undisturbed throughout construction.
This tilt-up facility is 54 feet tall and includes a significant amount of new material handling equipment and systems to automate NAPA’s pick-pack-ship modules. Upgrades to the sprinkler system across the existing building were also included, along with a new generator and a small customer support area with offices and restrooms. Within the existing facility, JE Dunn ensured the roof was sufficiently supported with snow loads and re-work approximately 75,000 square feet of seven-inch concrete slab to a floor flatness of F100.
