University Of Missouri-Kansas City Oak Street Parking Structure

University of Missouri’s Oak Street Parking Structure is a 4-level, 389-car above ground precast pre-stressed concrete parking structure that replaced an existing parking structure and a lot on the Kansas City campus. It provides parking to residents of the adjacent residence halls, the performing arts center, and university services. Two pedestrian bridges connect the parking facility to adjacent facilities. The new garage includes a police station, mail area, and processing system, elevators, access control, security systems and emergency phone stations. The project was a successful design-build project delivered by JE Dunn Construction and BNIM, who collaborated on the design from the beginning and allowed the project to be delivered on time and on budget. Sustainable design elements, including electric vehicle charging stations, were incorporated while recycled content and regional materials helped reduce the facility’s carbon footprint. JE Dunn self-performed the structural systems, precast and concrete for the garage and general carpentry work in the police and mail facilities
