Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City

The Federal Reserve Bank is a 940,000-square-foot office tower and operation base with a parking garage, remote vehicle inspection facility and site development. The 17-story concrete structure, with a limestone clad, precast curtainwall, provides the owners with two operations floors, 11 administrative levels, and three stories of mechanical / electrical penthouse. The project also features a five-story parking garage, and a well-buffered vehicle inspection facility.

The building was designed by Pei, Cobb, Freed & Partners of New York, and was overseen by local architects Ellerbe Becket. The limestone tower sits prominently juxtaposed to Liberty Memorial and is back dropped by the downtown skyline. The classic yet distinctive design is graced by five bays of windows per floor, on all sides of the tower. The north elevation of the structure features a two-story limestone colonnade and a curved, glass entry pavilion.
