Crown Center Office Buildings and Parking Structures consist of three projects, all of which were constructed by JE Dunn and several projects designed by BNIM.
The 2600 Grand building included a 280,350 SF office building with a 231,600 SF, 680-space parking garage. The building was constructed on a highly visible and heavily traveled tight site, part of the Hallmark Cards - Crown Center retail, office building, and hotel complex.
2301 McGee, the second project, is a multi-use facility consisting of four levels of underground parking at 47,000 SF each, one level of at grade parking at 34,000 SF totaling 524 cars. The main building lobby at 13,000 SF is shared with the top level of parking. A 75,000 SF Exhibit Hall sits on top of the garage and lobby. On top of the Exhibit Hall is a six-level office building at approximately 25,000 SF per level. The entire project is sandwiched between and connects to the existing Sheraton (formerly Hyatt) Hotel on the south and an eight story-parking garage on the northeast. The building structure consists of post-tensioned cast in place concrete.
2555 Grand was the latest addition to the Crown Center retail/office complex in midtown Kansas City. The structure is joined to the Crown Center complex by way of a single-story, 14,000 SF, elevated pedestrian link. An adjoining 10-story cast-in place concrete parking structure provides covered parking for 2,725 cars. Unusual features of this garage include cedar slats on the exterior of the garage at all the perimeter openings. Each floor is approximately two acres.
