Located just a few blocks from The University of Texas at Austin, the Corner at West Campus is a 143,000-square-foot, 62-unit student housing apartment complex located in an active and congested area of Austin. The complex includes a parking garage, leasing office, lounge area and fitness center. The building consists of two levels of subterranean parking garage and at-grade level parking and public amenities constructed of poured in place concrete podium. Above the podium are seven stories of apartment units constructed with Prescient, a light gauge steel prefabricated building system. This system offers faster, greener and more cost-effective alternatives to conventional building structures. This is the first building in Austin to be constructed with the Prescient system. JE Dunn recognized the advantage of this system because it brings cost savings when compared to concrete or steel. For The Corner, this allowed for the construction of an additional floor.
