FARGO - Microsoft is making significant updates to their Vista building on their campus in southwest Fargo.
A permit was recently taken out with the city of Fargo for $4,050,253 in work to the building at 4000 Great Plains Drive.
J.E. Dunn Construction with be updating and refreshing the first floor and second-floor north wing of Vista, Microsoft Site Leader Sandi C. Piatz said in an email.
The other Fargo campus buildings are Commons, Horizon and Vision.
Construction of the Vista building was completed in 2001.
Piatz did not address whether the work would lead to expanded hiring by Microsoft locally, but she did say that the software giant has openings in services, finance, development engineering and sales.
Microsoft was founded in 1975. According to the corporation’s 2017 annual report, it had $90 billion in revenues and $22.3 billion in operating income for the fiscal year.
Microsoft finalized the $1.1 billion purchase of the former Great Plains Software in April 2001, and at the time renamed the business Microsoft Great Plains Business Solutions.
