Dunn Aviation Group Honored for its Diversity and Inclusion Performance on Atlanta Airport Projects
For its dedication to using small, minority and women-owned businesses for projects at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the Dunn Aviation Group earned a 2019 Maynard H. Jackson Jr. Legacy Award saluting outstanding contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
The Dunn Aviation Group Joint Venture — comprising JE Dunn Construction, ENVIRO AgScience and Southeastern Engineering — earned a Soar Award, one of four legacy awards named for Atlanta’s first African American mayor, who vigorously championed expanded opportunities for minority contractors.
The Soar Award recognizes a joint venture team for demonstrating diversity and inclusion on projects of the airport’s 20-year expansion and improvement program, ATLNext. The Soar Award cited Dunn Aviation Group for “identifying, recruiting, utilizing, mentoring and/or growing” small, minority and women-owned firms, and for continually meeting or exceeding goals of the City of Atlanta’s Office of Contract Compliance.
“Dunn Aviation Group is honored to be recognized for our team’s ongoing efforts to increase the participation of minority and women-owned businesses at Hartsfield-Jackson,” said Vice President/Aviation Project Executive Iana Tassada. “Our efforts on airport projects reflect the values and broader commitment of JE Dunn to improving access to opportunities for all.”
Also representing JE Dunn at the awards presentation were Cherelle Cortez, East Region Senior Diversity and Inclusion Manager, and East Region Diversity and Inclusion Specialist Chyna Terrell Green.
